A rapid and simple TLC system that separates all thyroidal iodoamino acids from one another and from iodide is described. The iodoamino acids separated include 3-monoiodotyrosine, 3,5-diiodotyrosine, 3,3',5-triiodothyronine, thyroxine, monoiodohistidine and diiodohistidine.
