Seven species of the subgenus Parratomyia (genus Sergentomyia) were found in east Afghanistan [S. (P.) babus (Annandale), S. (P.) baghdadis (Adler), S. (P.) grekovi (Khodukin), S. (P.) montana (Sinton), S. (P.) palestinensis (Adler), S. (P.) sogdiana (Parrot) and S. (P.) sumbarica (PerFiliew)]. Their taxonomic positions are discussed.
