Collection for many years of I. apronophorus P. Sch. from small rodents and Insectivora [Arvicola terrestris, Neomys fodiens, Microtus oeconomus, M. arvalis, Clethrionomys rufocanus, Myopus schisticolor, Sorex araneus, S. caecutiens, Apodemus agrarius, Microtus agrestis, Sicista betulina, Talpa europaea] established the northern border of distribution in the north-west of the European part of the USSR. Three groups of hosts (principal, secondary and additional) were identified on the basis of their incidence and the intensity of tick infestation. The pattern of distribution of these ticks in biotopes was studied.
