A case is reported of a man who developed the PatersonPlummer -Vinson Syndrome (iron -deficiency anaemia associated with dysphagia) following a partial gastrectomy. The syndrome progressed to post-cricoid carcinoma, a not unusual finding in women, but hitherto unrecorded in a man. The relevant literature is briefly reviewed.
