We describe a case of Plummer-Vinson syndrome characterized by anemia, dysphagic, esophageal stenosis and iron deficiency. Contrary to Vinson's hypothesis, iron deficiency seems not to be secondary to stenosis. Like anemia, dysphagia and esophageal proliferation are probably due to the coenzyme deficiency secondary to sideropenia. A differential diagnosis is necessary to avoid the diagnosis of postcricoid carcinoma.
