The prevalence and life cycle of Spirocerca lupi, its pathogenesis, clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment, and control in dogs are discussed. There is reference to inflammatory granulomas, aortic damage and bone lesions. Diethylcarbamazine, disophenol and dithiazanine are available for treatment.
