Nuclear volumes of the mammary epithelium were measured in 10 pairs of autopsied mammary glands obtained from both pregnant and non-pregnant women aged <40 yr. The results indicated that nuclear volumes tend to increase with age and the relation between nuclear volumes and cytologic differentiation, observed in younger women, is no longer present.
