The genital cones of male Ancyclostoma braziliense, A. tubaeforme, A. ceylanicum, A. duodenale, A. malayanum, A. kusimaense, A. caninum, Agriostomum vryburgi and Cyclodontostomum purvisi were examined by scanning electron microscopy. External structures adjacent to the ano-genital aperture were present in all the the species examined and are described and illustrated. The anogenital structures are morphologically similar among the species with 3 pairs of teeth or more but in hookworms with 2 pairs of teeth the structures are more complex and it is suggested that they can be used as a taxonomic character in separating the species.
