Use of numerical taxonomy in the genus candida and certain related yeast genera

The yeasts studied included Candida pseudotropicalis, C. albicans, C. tropicalis, C. stellatoidea, C. parapsilosis, C. mycoderma, C. guilliermondii, C. krusei, C. lipolytica, C. utilis, Torulopsis utilis, T. glabrata and T. glutinis. A comparison of data obtained by numerical analysis with those of conventional taxonomy is made; as yet the true value of the former is not fully established.
