In a survey at Benghazi, Libya, during December 1970 to April 1972 the faeces of 760 of 1,950 sheep and 480 of 910 cattle were positive for lungworm larvae. Incidence was highest during the autumn and winter. The only species identified from cattle was Dictyocaulus viviparus; D. filaria was present in 300 sheep, Muellerius capillaris in 360 and Protostrongylus rufescens in 100.
