Preparation of the drug from Penicillium urticae [P. patulum] and its use in 107 cases of tinea capitis (97 'Trichophyton favosa' [? T. schoenleinii], 7 T. violaceum, 3 Microsporum gypseum) and 3 of tinea imbricata [T. concentricum] are described. When oral administration was supplemented by external application extensive tinea favosa cleared in c. 1 month. Therapeutic effects were apparently higher than those of griseofulvin.
