In Malaysia, 32 Presbytis cristatus examined at capture and another 16 examined after 2 months in a monkey colony were found to be infected with intestinal parasites. Helminth infection, respectively, was as follows: 32 and 16 with Trichuris trichiura, 32 and 5 with Strongyloides fuelleborni, 27 and 2 with Oesophagostomum apiostomum and 0 and 2 with Parabertiella sp. Thiabendazole at 30 mg/kg body-weight was found to be effective against O. apiostomum and S. fuelleborni, but not against T. trichiura.
