Ovine chlamydial polyarthritis: sequential development of articular lesions in lambs after intraarticular exposure

After intraarticular injection of the agent of ovine chlamydial polyarthritis, lesions occurred in 3 stages: serous synovitis and tenosynovitis 2-14 hours after inoculation, fibrinopurulent inflammation at 24 to 96 hours, and finally early changes of resolution after 6 to 24 days.
