The antiadhesive activity of 3 flavonoids from citrus fruit was estimated from the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) of 48 healthy subjects. ESR was reduced 78.8% by pentamethoxyflavone (sinensetin), 70.8% by hexamethoxyflavone (nobiletin) and 63.9% by heptamethoxyflavone when they were added to blood at a concentration of 48 mu M or 17.9, 19.3 and 20.8 mu g/ml, respectively.
