A severe outbreak of respiratory disease affecting 118 of 196 weaned beef calves is reported; five calves died. Culture of nasal swabs from 21 affected calves yielded 11 isolates each of Pasteurella multocida and Mycoplasma sp. No viral agent was isolated, but antibodies against parainfluenza-3 and bovine viral diarrhoea viruses were demonstrated in serum of these animals.
