Critical evaluation of dichlorvos tablets in puppies

Dichlorvos tablets given orally at 11 mg/kg body-weight to 27 suckling and 15 weanling pups expelled 66 and 97% of the immature and mature population, respectively, of Toxocara canis from sucklings, and 100 and 91% from weanlings. It expelled 54 and 97% of immature and mature Toxascaris leonina, respectively, from sucklings, and 96 and 87% from weanlings. The same dose expelled all mature Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala from sucklings and weanlings. No side effects were noted.
