The adsorption of drugs to Avicel pH 101 and some other cellulose materials was studied in vitro. Langmuir adsorption isotherms were established at pH-values in the range of 2.0-8.5 at 25°C. The adsorption was completely reversible at pH 7.5. Different batches of Avicel pH 101 showed varying adsorptive capacities.
