Injection of S. cerevisiae into the left renal arteries of rabbits produced focal inflammatory lesions in glomeruli and intertubular capillaries. The lesions, studied by light and electron microscopy from 1 min to 5 days after injection, had 2 related components: an acute inflammatory reaction within capillaries and reactive changes in glomeruli.e.
