Side effects of levamisole

Levamisole was tried in thirty leprosy cases, in dosage of 150 mg/day for three consecutive days every fortnight for three months. No severe side effect was seen. Mild degree side effects were seen in fifty percent patients. Only ten percent patients had it regularly. So we feel that levamisole is quite a safe drug, it can be used for long term treatment for its immunostimulatory action.
