Excellent effect of sodium-citrate-EDTA-combination therapy in severe lead poisoning during pregnancy

A woman in her 5th month of pregnancy took a dosage of about 25 g of an inorganic lead compound for a period of three weeks, probably lead oxide. The author describes the clinical picture of the arising intoxication. First of all, the bondage of lead to sodium citrate and thus its detoxication was achieved by the therapy initiated. After improvement of the clinical picture the lead was removed by coupling to EDTa-med. The therapy was so effective that a healthy baby could be born. Mother and child have been in a good state of health for 4 years.
