Blood group, erythrocyte isozyme and serum protein polymorphisms were examined in a sample of 150 Sukuma, a Lacustrian Bantu population of North Central Tanzania. The gene frequencies were generally in agreement with those observed in studies from East Africa. A genetic difference between the Lacustrian Bantu and Bantu populations in Southeast Africa was suggested by the data.
