The report briefly reviews and highlights the salient features of regional agricultural developments in the "ECWA region" (all Asian Arab countries and the Republic of Egypt) during the production year 1979/80, some contrasted with the prevailing trends for the 1970s. It is divided into three major sections: (1) Agriculture (crop and livestock production); (2) Agricultural trade; (3) Food security.
