Profound hepatic tissue morphofunctional changes with progressive hepatic failure occur in endotoxicoses caused by peritonitis and lower extremity gangrene. Comparative quantitative histoenzymatic and biochemical studies have revealed hepatic metabolic disturbances in peritonitis and leg gangrene.
