From the roots of Pleurospermum govanianum var. bicolor, which is used as a substitute for traditional Chinese medicine Qianhu in Yunnan province, 13 compounds were isolated and identified as sphondin, pimpinellim, (+)-pareruptorin A, (+)-anomalin, peucedanocoumarin II, pteryxin, moellendorffiline, quercetin, falcarindiol, palmitic acid, stearic acid, lignoceric acid and gamma-sitosterol.
