From the dried leaves and stems of Rabdosia stracheyi (Benth ex Hook. f) Hara. three compounds were isolated. One of them is a new diterpenoid quinone. Its structure was identified as 16-acetoxy-7.alpha.-methoxyroyleanone (I), on the basis of physico-chemical constants, spectroscopic analysis and properties of the derivatives. The others were shown to be known compounds, 6,7-dehydroroyleanone and .beta.-sitosterol.
