Of 25 cases of primary acetonaemia, 20 improved within 48 hours after a single i/m injection of 10, 40 or 80 mg triamcinolone acetonide. This drug causes a rapid and persistent increase in the blood sugar. Simultaneous administration of glucose, propionate or propylene glycol is recommended.
