The effect of plasmin and its complexes with alpha 2-macroglobulin and alpha 2-antiplasmin on the proliferative activity of human lymphocytes

It was demonstrated that in three-day cultivation plasmin in the doses of 0.1, 1.0, and 10 mcg/ml had no significant effect on the spontaneous or phytohemagglutinin-induced proliferation. Stimulation of plasmin response to poke weed mitogen only occurred in the dose of 10 mcg/ml. Biogenic complexes of alpha-2-macroglobulin with plasmin (alpha-2-MC-P) and alpha-2-antiplasmin with plasmin (alpha-2-AP-P) induced a moderate decrease in the spontaneous proliferation after three days of cultivation. Plasmin had the same effect in five days. alpha-2-MC-P induced a dose-dependent comitogenic effect with phytohemagglutinin and poke weed mitogen. alpha-2-AP-P produced a dose-independent co-mitogenic effect with poke weed mitogen.
