The authors describe in the light of thre cases the pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of gallbladder tuberculosis calling attention to the importance of gallbladder calculosis in the development of this disease According to their opinion, gallbladder tuberculosis should be suspected mainly in women with a history of tuberculosis and cholecystopathic symptorns of many years' duration, with associated anaemia, lymphocytosis and raised BSR. The diagnosis of the disease is, as a rule, intraoperative or based on histological examination of the excised gallbladder. The prognosis is good if antituberculous treatment is started early.
