The following is virtually the authors' abstract of this account of studies carried out in the newly developed Cedar Bluff Irrigation District in Central Kansas. Surveys in 1960-69 indicated that the use of insecticides throughout the District had been generally light before irrigation was begun in 1963; after irrigation, the use of organophosphorus and carbamate compounds increased greatly.
