Treatment of apparent carbohydrate intolerance symptoms, however, includes a variety of recommendations for diet, ranging from a clear liquid to a regular diet. The purpose of our study was to investigate the effect of high and low simple-sugar diets--with equal amounts of carbohydrate, protein, and fat--on stool weight, stool frequency, and mouth-to-anus transit time.
