The diagnostic importance of the determination of fibronectin concentration in the blood plasma and urine was studied in 34 chronic glomerulonephritis and 14 amyloidosis patients. Fibronectin level was determined, using passive hemagglutination test with a fibronectin erythrocyte diagnosticum. Data are presented on the average level of fibronectin in the urine and blood plasma as a function of the indicator studied (diagnosis, leading sydrome, functional state of the kidneys). Multifactor analysis did not reveal reliable correlations between absolute and relative fibronectin content in blood plasma with the indicators. However, there was a pronounced correlation between absolute urine fibronectin concentration and proteinuria. Recommendations were made for using fibronectin excretion with urine to assess the activity of pathological process in chronic glomerulonephritis.
