The study of the paracoccidioidomicosis in Ecuador, particularly in the Microbiology Department of the Instituto Nacional de Higiene, has permitted us to observe 196 cases up to now with the most diverse clinic tables, some of wich have evolved in the linfatic-gangli-visceral. In this group two patients were studied with syndrome cirrhotic, showing serious characters with great abdominal distencion caused by the ascitis. We report in a complete and documental form and with all the details the evolution of each one of these patients proving the presence of the Paracoccidioides brasiliensis in lesiones mucocutaneas and in purulent material of multiple abscess of these patients. Although the histopathology diagnostic of cirrhosis, in both cases, the terapeutic answer to the antimicoticos used (fungisone, sulfametoxipiridazina and trimetoprin with sul- fametoxasol) permitted us to remit in a satisfactory way the ascitis and therefore the syndrome cirrhotic, concluding that this syndrome was originated by the P. brasiliensis. This observation impose us to describe the new discovered clinic form.
