This Act amends the Compilation of Civil Law of Navarra to eliminate provisions that discriminate on the basis of sex, birth, or civil status. Among the changes are the following: a) the age of puberty is made the same for both sexes; b) wives are given the same rights as men to manage marital property and to exercise parental authority over children and both must agree in order to dispose of the home and household effects; c) the rights of illegitimate children are made equal to those of legitimate children; and d) obligatory dowry is eliminated.
