Using WHO methods, it was found that the effectiveness of organophosphorus insecticides against early 4th-instar larvae of C. gelidus (from Mysore, Karnataka, India) was in the order: temephos > malathion > fenthion > fenitrothion. The concentrations of insecticides tested were in the range 0.001-0.125 mg/litre.
