In tests on 2321 sera from both high-risk and low-risk groups 74 (3.2%) were repeatedly positive by 2 or more different ELISAs (no Western blotting), with highest rates in haemophiliacs (7.3%), syphilis patients (5.6% of 1112 tested) and blood recipients (2.5%).D.W. FitzSimons.
