Morbillivirus strain 'PPR Egypt 87' was capable of reproducing plague of small ruminants in 2 goats inoculated i.m., and it induced neutralizing antibody in 45 rabbits inoculated i.m. or i.v. The virus was recovered from nasal and ocular swabs, and from the buffy coat of blood cells.
