Of 108 confirmed AIDS patients in Zaire 15 had demonstrable IgM Toxoplasma antibodies; the direct agglutination test (DAT) detected 13 of the cases and IFAT detected only 4. 2 patients were positive by both methods. It was mainly patients with neurological signs (3 of 10) and chronic diarrhoea (10 of 66) who presented IgM Toxoplasma antibodies.
