Carp weighing from 700 to 800 g initially were kept 12 months in an aquarium and fed regularly or starved so that at the end of the experiment they weighed 400 to 500 g. Mean liver weight at the end of 12 months was 20.42 g in those fed regularly and 2.40 g in those starved. Kidney weights were 2.88 g and 0.79 g, respectively. Moisture in the livers and kidneys of the fed group was 69.6 and 79.35% and of the starved group 81.67 and 81.72%.
