Some haematological indices in mink

Normal values for various blood constituents were studied in 26-week-old male and female mink. The following criteria were investigated: r.b.c. counts; Hb-content; haematocrit values; r.b.c. acid resistance; w.b.c. count and w.b.c. differential count. The following serum constituents were also measured; total protein; protein fractions; total lipids; total cholesterol; free cholesterol; phospholipids; beta-lipoproteids; glucose; specific gravity; dry matter and Ca, Na, K, Mg and inorganic P. There were some differences in blood components between the male and female mink.
