The essential oil yield from dried plant material was 0.8%. The major constituents of the oil were 1,8-cineole (50.6%), beta -pinene (9.8%), trans-pinocarveol (4.5%), beta -caryophyllene (3.1%) and linalyl acetate (3.0%) amongst 36 compounds isolated. The essential oil was shown to have spasmolytic activity.
