This is the fifth part of a series of guides to the aquatic Heteroptera of Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia. The family Hydrometridae, with 14 species of the genus Hydrometra are known from the Peninsula. A key to 19 species of Hydrometra found in Southeast Asia is presented. Illustrations for the key characters of each species are provided. Hydrometra akekawati Sites & Polhemus, 2003 is synonymized with H. okinawana Drake, 1951.
