Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and lymphocyte-induced angiogenesis (LIA) of mononuclear leukocytes (MNC) isolated from the peripheral blood of patients with mycotic denture stomatitis due to Candida albicans were examined. The results showed a decrease in ADCC in patients with mycotic infection of the oral cavity. Similarly, the ability to induce angiogenesis by MNC isolated from these patients was decreased in comparison with angiogenesis induced by control MNC. After antimycotic treatment, an increase in ADCC and LIA was noted.
