Ninety patients with lead poisoning (49 with poisoning of medium gravity and 41 with the grave pattern) were examined for correlations between the components of the differential blood count in absolute numbers. Of these, 35 patients (18 were with poisoning of medium gravity and 17 with severe poisoning were examined for correlations between the above-indicated components and some characteristics of red blood including the parameters of erythrocytometry. The data obtained suggest that immune processes determined by self-regulation are implicated in the pathogenetic mechanism of lead-induced anemia. Erythrocytopenia associated with lead-induced anemia is under discussion.
