Relative role of different types of aquatic plants in the production of Mansonia

The study carried out to elucidate the relative role of three major host plants of Mansonia, the vector of brugian filariasis in endemic coastal village of Kerala has shown that Pistia is still the most favoured host plant for their egg laying and breeding association. Pistia accounted for 42.7 pr cent and 87 per cent respectively of the overall annual adult output and egg clusters of this group.
