Report of two clinical trials comparing fluocinonide with ßmethasone valerate in a double-blind study. A total of 91 patients afflicted with eczema or psoriasis were treated. They applied the compounds twice daily without occlusion. In 19 psoriatic patients, fluocinonide was superior in 15 cases, ßmethasone valerate in 2 and there was no drug superiority in 2 cases. In 71 cases of eczema, fluocinonide was rated superior in 42 cases, ßmethasone valerate in 19 cases and there was no superiority in 10 cases. In summary, of 91 cases, fluocinonide was superior in 57 cases, ßmethasone valerate in 21 and there was no difference in 13.
