Of the 500 clinical isolates of Proteus typed by proticin sensitivity typing method of Al-Jumaili, 85 per cent strains were typable. Reproducibility of this typing system, after storing the strains on nutrient agar slants at 4.degree. C for 4 wk, was found to be 96 per cent. Of the 300 local isolates 92 per cent were found to be proticinogenic.
