Numerous larvocysts, identified as those of Taenia polyacantha, were found within canals of the liver parenchyma, under the capsule, of a rabbit that had died at Bojanovice village in Czechoslovakia. The liver was enlarged. The yellowish larvocysts measured 6-13 x 0.7-1 mm and lacked a body membrane; an invaginated scolex was present but only one of the 16 larvae examined had the rudiments of 60 rostellar hooks, indicating that full development occurs only after the final localization (body cavity) is reached. The rabbit was in poor health and nutritional condition and also contained sporadic coccidial oocysts and T. pisiformis cysticerci in the intestines.
