Twenty seven infants and children suffering from respiratory illness and 18 healthy children were investigated for the serological evidence of parainfluenza 3 (PI3) infections. Fourteen out of 27 cases (51.85%) had evidence of PI3 infections when tested by hemadsorption-inhibition and complement-fixation tests either alone or in combination. Of the two tests hemadsorption-inhibition test was found to be more sensitive.
