In October 1985, 84 Garganica non-lactating female goats were injected subcutaneously with ivermectin at 0, 50, 100 or 200 micro g/kg. Ivermectin had no adverse effect. When the goats were examined 10 to 12 weeks later, a total of 74 warbles were found in 15 of the 21 untreated goats, but no warbles were found in goats treated with ivermectin.
