Serum protein patterns in chronic lymphatic filariasis

No significant differences were established between the total serum proteins of patients with lymphatic filariasis presenting with elephantiasis of the lower limbs (13 cases) and of the scrotum (2 cases), as compared to controls. There were significant decreases in albumin levels significant rises in alpha - and beta -globulins and in IgA, IgM and IgG levels in the filarial patients.
